EcoVoce - Speak up!
The EcoVoce - Speak up project is financed by the IMPETUS Accelerator programme.
The Accelerator is a planned and structured programme that includes training activities, mentoring and financial support for the Citizen Science Initiatives (CSIs) that are selected in the IMPETUS annual Open Calls.
About the project:
The EcoVoce - Speak up! project aims to enhance the impact of the EcoVoce app within the local communities and increase citizens' engagement in monitoring and reporting environmental problems in the Aries River Basin in Romania, a region of great historical, natural and cultural wealth. This area has undergone industrial (mining) production periods, leaving specific traces of pollution and socio-economic deprivation. These old problems are currently overlaid by newer consumption-related waste issues. Due to these circumstances, the environmental problems are highly complex, accruing over several decades and negatively affecting various stakeholders. The main stakeholders are citizens (local residents), local authorities, regional environmental authorities and SMEs, particularly tour operators and outdoor recreation and leisure providers.
To achieve our goal, we will employ citizen engagement strategies that we will decide upon with our IMPETUS mentors to achieve the best engagement results and social and environmental impact.
